Where are the Mounties?

We visited the Parliament Buildings this summer, to take in Ottawa's Changing Of The Guard.

That ceremony was just great!

Yet, my memory of visits past tells me that there used to be a number of Canada's Royal Mounted Police, complete with their classic red uniforms, on duty on Parliament Hill. At one time, I believe they actually rode their horses there too.

You know, I don't recall seeing a single Mountie on the Hill this summer. Wonder where they went?
