Visitors accessing services in library

by Karen
(Combermere, ON)

I will be visiting Ottawa for one month.
How can I get the $5.00 library card?
Can I use the address of friends I am staying with? Will I be able to access internet services?
I guess that is it. Thanks. Karen

Hi there Karen.

It appears as though you can get a visitors pass from any branch of the OPL. The following is the current info from the OPL:

Just visiting?

  • Register for a visitor’s membership valid for a maximum of three months at a cost of $5 a month.

  • Bring identification with your permanent addres or photo identification and proof of your temporary Ottawa address to get your card.

  • You may borrow three items at any one time from our circulating collections and also get access to the Internet.

Cheers,

Bill
