Dinosaurs, Mammals, Einstein & More

Folks, there’s no way that any web site can do justice to all of the marvels that are on display on Floor 1 of the Canadian Museum of Nature.

Here are a couple more photos to entice you further, and you’ll have to visit to see the rest of the excellent and informative displays yourself!

You can spend a good length of time exploring the wonders of the prehistoric age. When you’re done, move up a level to Floor 2.

Floor 2 features Canadian mammals, and although much of the floor is still under construction, the dioramas that are there are powerful and beautiful. Here’s a couple of shots before we move on to Floor 3.

Floor 3 has exhibits about Einstein, the theory of relativity, black holes, speed of light, a variety of topics relating to Mr. Einstein, the genius who revolutionized our understanding of space and time.

The Einstein exhibit is on from October 2006 through to January 14/07.

Floor 4 offers the visitor the gallery of birds with hundreds of different species mounted and on display.

’Birds

Along with the bird displays, which really have to be seen to be believed, Floor 4 offers the visitor a “Discovery Zone” and a “Hi-Def Theatre”.

The discovery zone is a learning center for educational groups up to 60 students at a time. In the weekends and summer months the discovery zone offers visitors of all ages hands on activities.

The included-in-your-admission “Hi-Def Theatre” provides a wide range of outstanding high definition nature movies in both of Canada’s two official languages, French and English.

Even with the limited viewing as the musuem undergoes renovation the admission rates to the Canadian Museum of Nature are low enough that you will get good value for your money when you visit.
