It's almost Irish time in Ottawa!
I know it's still dark early and late in Ottawa these days.
The brief thaw over new years has blossomed into full blown winter, with temps in the -10 C or even lower range, and snow almost a daily occurrence.
However!
It will soon be March in Ottawa, and it's time then to celebrate the Irish in all of us.
March 10 - 17 2011 are the dates for the Ottawa Irish Festival.
"The Ottawa Irish Festival is an annual celebration of Irish and Irish-Canadian culture in the National Capital Region.
This week-long event allows residents and visitors to enjoy the very best of all things Irish: music, poetry, history, song, dance, theatre, language, sport and the annual Ottawa St. Patrick’s Parade and Grand Irish Party.

March 10
Proclamation Concert from 7 to 10 pm. Evening starts with Proclamation of “Irish Week” in the City of Ottawa, from March 10 to 17, followed by a Musical Concert.
National Irish Canadian Cultural Centre (Kildare Room, lower level)
310 St. Patrick Street (Cumberland Street entrance).
Admission: “Free – will donation” with a cash bar
