Casino Lac Leamy

Casino Lac Leamy; just a few kilometers from Ottawa’s Parliament Hill, in downtown Gatineau Quebec, is located a modern and spacious hotel and gaming complex containing, among other attractions, a restaurant that was voted “Best Restaurant” among the 240 Hilton Hotels throughout North America.

The complex also offers the visitor top notch accommodations for an overnight stay.

The Theatre Du Casino provides world-class entertainment in matinee and evening shows.

The site offers an ultra-modern convention center, a marina adjoining the casino (with free dockage for casino visitors) with connection to the Ottawa River for those travelling by boat, and, of course, let’s not forget the gambling.

In a smoke-free environment, more than 60 gambling tables offer the player Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat and Keno, to name just a few of the games of chance offered.

Do you prefer slot machines? How about an offering of more than 1,800 of them in one location?

Getting there!

From in front of Parliament, drive east on Wellington Street to the first left, which is Sussex Drive. A couple of kilometres along you will arrive at a right turn which is an on ramp to the MacDonald-Cartier Bridge to Quebec.

Careful! My welcome to the Province of Quebec when I crossed this bridge recently was a speed trap run by a Quebec Provincial policeman. The speed limit on the bridge is 70 KPH (approx. 43 MPH) so be careful that you aren’t one of those caught speeding when crossing the bridge into Quebec.

It is only two kilometres or so along this highway (autoroute de la Gatineau) to the turn off to Casino Lac Leamy, and it’s very well marked.

If you prefer, click on this Google Map which shows the exit from highway #5 (exit #3) at the end of which you turn right, cross over Boulevard de la Carriere, and into the Casino grounds between Lake Leamy and Lac de la Carriere.

If you prefer to take transit, Casino Lac Leamy has partnered with many of the hotels in Ottawa, offering a shuttle bus to and from these hotels to the casino. Some hotels offer the shuttle at no cost, for others it’s a $3.00 cash fare as priced in early 2007.

Casino Lac Leamy is open 7 days a week from 09:00 a.m. until 04:00 a.m.

For night owls, starting in April 2007, the casino will stay open 24 hours on the weekends, as will one restaurant on those same days to help ensure that you never go hungry while you are gaming.
